October 2026 version

Provisional pilot text: to be reviewed by a qualified person before the public launch. Passages in brackets are to be completed.

1. Who we are

CamTrade is a service of AF Innovation [legal name, address and business number to be completed].

2. What CamTrade does

CamTrade is a marketplace for used photo gear: it connects people who sell with people who buy, and partner shops.

CamTrade is not a party to sales between members: it holds neither the gear nor the money, and during the pilot no payment goes through CamTrade. Meet the other person in a public place, check the serial number and test the camera before you pay.

3. Your account

The account is free and personal: one person, one account, with accurate information. Keep your password to yourself. You can ask for your account to be closed by writing to us.

4. Your listings

You sell what belongs to you, describing the condition, the shutter count and what is included honestly. Stolen, counterfeit or prohibited items are refused.

You have the right to publish the photos you upload. Their metadata (place, date, device) is removed before they are stored. The serial number stays private. CamTrade may take down a listing that breaks these rules.

5. Messages and offers

Messages and offers are between members, with respect for the other person. An accepted offer is an agreement between the two of you: it is not a payment. Never send a card number or a password. You can block a person and report a message.

6. Ratings

After a sale concluded in the app, each side can rate the other. A rating becomes public when the other person has rated too, or a week later. It must be honest; offensive content may be hidden.

7. Affiliate links and partners

Some links to retailers or eBay.ca may be affiliate links: they are always flagged “Affiliate”, and CamTrade may be paid if you buy, at no cost to you. Partner shops sell directly: CamTrade does not guarantee the prices and stock that third parties show.

8. Moderation

Reports are read by a person on the team. A listing may be taken down and an account suspended for a scam, counterfeit, offensive content or abuse.

9. Liability

During the pilot the service is offered as is. [Limits of liability to be written and reviewed.]

10. Changes and governing law

We may change these terms; an important change will be announced and the version you accepted is kept. [Governing law and courts: to be confirmed, Québec and Canada.]
